Alan M. Colvin graduated from the University of South Alabama with a B.S. in Finance. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Law where he was a senior editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession. Mr. Colvin graduated from law school and was admitted to practice law in Alabama in 2001.

After graduating from law school, he served as a Law Clerk to the late Mobile County Circuit Judge William H. "Bill" McDermott. He then practiced with an insurance defense firm for a short time before opening his own practice where he concentrated on criminal defense for several years. During that time, he defended hundreds of criminal cases and even served as second chair in a capital murder case.

In 2005, Mr. Colvin had an opportunity to join the established personal injury firm of Clay, Massey & Associates, P.C. He practiced there for over seven years and became a partner with the firm name changing to Clay, Massey & Colvin. During his time there, he was able to handle hundreds of personal injury claims from start to finish and successfully completed several jury trials obtaining favorable verdicts for his clients.

In 2014, Mr. Colvin decided to venture back out on his own where he continues to serve the citizens of Mobile by providing dedicated representation in the areas of personal injury (auto accidents, on the job injuries, slip and falls) criminal defense, and debt defense. He also prepares wills, powers of attorney, and advanced directives (living wills).

He lives in Mobile and raises his family here. He spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with friends and coaching youth sports.
